Frequently Asked Questions
As you’re starting a senior care services franchise, we have you covered. We will provide one week of training at our home office in Pittsburgh to all new franchise owners and on-site training at your location for up to two days within the first two weeks of your business launch. We will also present you with a copy of our confidential operations manual to help you run your business properly on a day-to-day basis.
We are seeking single-unit, start-up franchise owners and also welcome independent senior care agencies or businesses interested in converting to the Sunny Days In-Home Care brand and system. We require that franchise owners be fully involved in daily business operations from the start, and remain involved as the business grows — if you have an operating partner, we expect both parties to be involved, and both the franchisee and operating partner must each have at least 25 percent equity in the business. We also welcome qualified military veterans interested in independent business ownership. This is a highly rewarding business, and it takes dedication and compassion. While having some experience working with the elderly/disabled, or experience in or connections within the healthcare field might be beneficial, it is not required. We can teach you the specifics of how to run a senior care franchise business. Above all, we look for people who truly care about what they do, about their communities and about making a difference — not just about making money.
The projected initial investment range for a single start-up location ranges between $70,970 and $119,150 for start-up operators; and between $47,670 and $78,200 for conversion operators. This investment amount includes an initial franchise fee of $38,000 (this fee is discounted for qualified veterans and for conversion franchises). As with any new business venture, it’s important that you have the capital needed to adequately fund your new business.
Franchisees will pay a royalty rate of 5% of gross billings, a 1 percent marketing fee and a software fee of up to $100 per month. These fees allow us to fund our ongoing support services and the continued development of services, marketing tools, training programs and systems upgrades.
Good news! Sunny Days In-Home Care will contribute $10,000 of your initial franchise fee toward your grand opening marketing budget — in addition to the $500/month we require you to pay for grand opening marketing. This will help you get a running start. Then, on an ongoing basis, you will be required to spend at least $500 per month in your territory to market to potential clients (additional expenditures would be needed for caregiver recruitment advertising). As a franchisee, you will also be required to contribute up to 3 percent of gross revenue (initially, we will be collecting a reduced amount of 1 percent) into the system marketing fund. Collected funds will be used to develop marketing strategies to promote the Sunny Days In-Home Care brand and fund the creative costs to develop local franchise marketing materials and campaigns.
We do not offer direct financing to franchisees. We can provide references to qualified financing resources to help you get the funding you need.
The initial term of your franchise agreement is five years, with three additional successor agreement options of five years each.
The success of your Sunny Days In-Home Care franchise depends on the drive and dedication you put into your operation. Our franchise development team will provide you with the tools you need to run and manage your business, but the future of your business relies on you!
